I began my career in fitness over 14 years ago when I started exercising and studying nutrition to lose weight. After losing 35 lbs., I became more intrigued by the human anatomy and its body mechanics. I began educating myself in Anatomy and Physiology with aspirations to pursue a career in Sports Medicine. I began studying Health Occupations. I also started to sculpt my body by running cross-country, cheerleading, song leading and strength-training. After attending school for Medical Assisting and only a few semesters into college, my husband, H Waldman relocated us to Jerusalem, Israel where he pursued his career in professional basketball. My husband injured his back during a game and rehabilitated doing Pilates. Once I realized what this amazing exercise form could do, I returned to Las Vegas and to UNLV where I completed my first Pilates certification course. I flew back to Jerusalem anxious to open the first Body in Mind in December of '98. In my travels, I've worked with and learned from dozens of instructors. Masters who have been teaching Pilates for many years contributed to my articulate instruction and others who have much more to learn about Pilates, inspired me to continue to educate myself in different forms of the method. I am currently working on a third certification through STOTT Pilates. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with many different body types and injuries. I've trained professional athletes, dancers, mothers-to-be, my husbands' teammates, celebrities, senior-citizens, M.S. clients, children, teenagers and adults suffering from A.D.H.D., asthmatics, plenty suffering from low-back pain, other ailments and hopefully you! All of my clients have built healthier, stronger bodies thanks to Pilates. Pilates helped me bring my baby into this world without any drugs! A peaceful mind, strong pelvic floor and breathing techniques allowed me to experience one of life's miracles. When we left Israel and returned to Las Vegas (December of 2000), I opened Body in Mind inside the Las Vegas Sporting House. I watched the business grow with just myself and 2 other instructors. After the Sporting House closed in December of '01, we relocated to inside of GOLDS GYM. We serviced our clients at that location for 4 years. In May of 2005, I was able to expand to the southeast side of town and opened Body in Mind Beauty & Fitness Boutique at 8925 South Pecos Road. Finally, I was able to build my dream! A high-end fitness boutique offering my clients everything they've asked for over the years. Currently, Body in Mind WEST has partnered with the Las Vegas Athletic Club's Northwest location bringing the largest Pilates studio to Las Vegas Valley! You can find me teaching at both of my studios, instructing the residents at Park Towers and I training the Durango High School Women's Volleyball team. I continue to educate myself with Pilates and Fitness so I can offer my clients the safest and most effective instruction. In addition to making myself a better Instructor, I am constantly improving my studios and look forward to opening more locations to provide affordable Pilates equipment classes to the entire Las Vegas Valley.
