| Jade Meeker, a former judge, is a frequent speaker at State Bar functions. She is considered one of the leading experts in Search and Seizure in Texas, for both federal and state law. Her work on the Search Warrant Manual and the Arrest & Search without a Warrant Manual are good examples of her ability to explain difficult Constitutional issues in terms that can be of use to the officer in the field.
Jade lives and works in Austin. She is a former attorney for the Court of Criminal Appeals, a Justice of the Peace, and an Assistant District Attorney. She speaks often to lawyers, judges, and officers about her subject of choice, Search and Seizure, and her attorney books on the subject, has been used by courts of appeals throughout the state. Jade has also lectured for the University of Texas, Austin Community College, and other area schools for laypersons interested in criminal law and community justice issues.
She has three children, ages eleven to nineteen, and keeps a busy schedule between her home duties and professional responsibilities. CLEAR is proud to have her on board as one of our contributors. |
